I agree with your friend before is good after it’s clutter, mine was down the next day…but we are moving too….

Well, it’s New Year’s Day and mine is still up. I just can’t get enough of it. My husband likes the fireplace and mantle so much that he wants to leave it just the way it is. It will probably come down in the next couple days.

I took everything down on the 30th, but that was because I needed room to do other things and the Christmas stuff was getting in the way. Hubby was a little upset I took it down so early, but the clutter and trying to manage doing what needed to get done around it was getting to me.

I was pretty surprised seeing you say how you wanted all the Christmas decorations down by New Years. Especially considering how hard you have worked to put the religious aspects back into the holiday for your small folk. Generally ‘little Christmas’ better known as Three Kings Day is the day my family uses as the benchmark for takedown day, seeing as how its the day that the Kings finish their pilgrimage to the Child.

Kim – I understand what you are saying. We did choose to keep our Nativity scene up – until the Epiphany on Jan 6th – but I do like to have a ‘clean slate’ going in to the New Year – so, taking down the tree and other decorations is refreshing to me :)

It all works out though, each family has to figure out what works for them. I am sure that I will have to adjust when our small people come on the scene ^_^.
