The Spin Cycle - Social Media and What Gives?
I want your input for The Spin Cycle on MomTV today- and you know I love it when you participate.
I have a few great topics lined up for the Wednesday show:
On the heels of last week’s amazing dialogue,
*Is social media (ie blogging, twittering, Facebooking) changing the way we communicate with each other and learn about the world around us? How? If social media is taking up a lot of our time - what are we eliminating?
*What gives? When life is overwhelming - and you are balancing everything under the sun - your family, the kids, your home, work (in or out of the home) - what GIVES? What do you sacrifice? And is there a way to balance it all?
If you have thoughts you want to share, feel free to post them here - I’d love to know what you think, and of course, I can’t wait for you to join me on The Spin Cycle , Wednesday on MomTV at 9pm EST - where we keep you current while you balance the world spinning around you.
Make sure to have your webcam and your opinions ready! I want you to JOIN the conversation! Don’t forget, anyone can chat, but if you want to join in via webcam, you will have to register with MomTV.
See you then - Wednesday at 9pm EST.

I don’t get to catch the show because I rarely use the computer at night with Hubs home and needing attention and all, but I do want to comment. I feel that YES social media does take up A LOT of my time and if you ask Hubs, he’s say that the housework gives! LOL! Truth is, I’m no domestic and never have been so ANY reason to sham on chores is good to me! But I know for sure that inorder to keep up my social sites, I have cut out (or at least have made it an excuse) exercising like I should. Bloggin is just more fun!
I love social media- I have made wonderful (True) friends and expanded my business. What Gives? I don’t watch as much TV or talk on the phone as much.
I think social media is great. It allows you to meet others you would have otherwise never met, it lets you be inspired by people’s life, what they give or their circumstances. For me it has restored my faith in human’s as I have watched the community come together time and time again.
What gives? Well lately it has been my family, but that is something that i am trying to work on. As they should not be what gives.
I didn’t catch it this week, because I just now found out about it, but I’ll be there next week!

Your picture of your family is picture perfect of a healthy family, no wonder the store owner thought it was models if he thought at all. I am from the area east of Kirksville, Mo., and been to St Louis many times, now in CA., and I think most anyone thinks their Internet use is private, who would care what I say, but the truth is, if you do not want the whole world to know or see it, do not put it on the Internet. So I think we might have to expect it. So to all who post, if you want a sweet smelling aroma to reflect you, then don’t be sour on the Internet. PS: my son was a diaper taker offer, and he outgrew it..I did tell him if he did do it one more time I would take a pic of him and I did, but he kept doing it. Part of our glorious memories of parenthood. May God bless you and your family and keep you safe and healthy.
Just came across your blog after reading about the family photo incident. Your kids are adorable. No, you’re not a moron. In a way the incident is interesting. But it shows the need for caution on social networking sites. I’m not very literate about how to do those. I don’t know if I want to.
I do have a blog. It’s devotional in nature. It does seem the blogosphere can be a place for people to vent their nasty impulses. Anyway, blessings to you.
Unfortunately, when we expose our family to the internet this and one of the other unthinkable things which can happen. We need to take more responsibility of what we post on the internet.

I can tell you how to keep someone from stealing your pics on your site. Please email me and I will give you a script. You can go to my site that I listed and try to right click on any of my pics and it will tell you that it is not allowed.
To make a print shot of your screen, just hold down the [alt] & [print screen] at the same time. Once you do that you can go to paint brush in Windows and paste it there. Let me know if you would like me to give you the script. Would love to help you at no cost.
I understand about not wanting your picture used in a manner that you did not give permission for.

You have a very attractive family — no wonder someone wanted to use your family’s photo! You are blessed with such a beautiful family. My grandson is about the age of your son and he’s a cutie too, but of course I’m a little biased, as all grandmas are. God bless.
