Moms Rock

Seriously.  We do.

I think it is part of the wiring.  Maybe it comes in the manual they feed you intravenously when you get your epidural.  But it seems to come naturally.

We rock.  Back and Forth.  Side to side. Left to right.  Right to left.

Somehow, we divined the knowledge that movement makes mothering easier.   I notice it most often at church….when, clearly our minds are on other things, but we still sooth purely by nature.  Just look around the next time you are in a room with other mothers.  It is really noticeable when you are standing behind so many.  You will catch small movements here and there.

The best….some women rock just out of habit.  No kids in their arms. Not kidding.  I’ve caught myself doing it.

Pretty cool. We rock.

Do it again!

OK…this cracks me up. I can’t help it, and it is probably oh-so-very-wrong on oh-so-many-levels.

My two year old son is just about the cutest little guy in the world (so what if I’m prejudiced!)

I LOVE to hear him giggle.

He still wears a diaper.  Which means I still have to wipe him.

He laughs when I wipe him.

And he almost always says, “Do it again.” And it isn’t because he’s worried I didn’t clean him off well enough.

It makes me laugh.  And I have to stop myself from doing it again - just to make him laugh.

How wrong is that?

I’m thinking this is a story he WON’T want me to share with his Prom date….
