Technology Fail, Family Triumph

There is a tiny little man who tied my hands behind my back on Monday night.

I like to call him Tech.  Tech Fail, that is.

Truth be told, he actually began to interfere in my life last week when he garbled my cell phone.  But for now let’s focus on the last few days.

He disabled my access to the world.  And by world, I mean online.  Ok - so I’m a bit of a nerd…what do you want from me?

Apparently, he saw fit to ruin the router, cross the wires and mangle my modem.  So, I am relegated to use of the library’s computer (which means I also blame him for Coop’s ‘accident’ yesterday - if we had been at home, he would have just gone to the bathroom when he felt the urge - but at the library??  Nooooo….too distracted.  I digress)

I had to cancel The Spin Cycle on MomTV tonight.  Why?  Because that requires Internet access and a web cam - which I didn’t have.

So, here I am - typing at a family member’s computer.  Last night, I worked through 250+ emails in my Outlook inbox.  I’ve managed to write a little. Who knows what my inbox will look like when I finally get back on.

But there is a little silver lining.  There always is if you look for it, right?

Tonight, my sweet girl had a ’surprise’ soccer tournament game - it was supposed to be last night.  So, normally, I would have missed it because I would have been on MomTV - but instead, I was there for the whole game.  And she was the goalie for the first time.  And she stopped every ball.  And we got ice cream.

So, Mr. Tech Fail - while I would like you to take a hike because I’m ready to get back to work, I would like to say a little thank you for this unexpected reprieve.

P.S. Delaney says ‘thank you’ too - especially for the Thin Mint Blizzard from Dairy Queen.
