What’s My Story - Project MomCasting Submission

What is my story?  Who am I?  And WHY do I do what I do?

As I prepared my submission for Project MomCasting, an in-progess TV series based on Online Moms, I found myself wandering the house talking to myself out loud.  What do I stand for? What is my journey? Am I happy?

You say it’s your Birthday?

And your wife isn’t even home to hang out with you? (Do you remember this birthday? Or at least the first part of the night?)

She’s off in Chicago doing girly things? At something called Blogher?

And you are home with the kids?

I can only imagine what the three of you are up to.

Whatever it is - I know you are having fun.  I know you are letting them stay up late and sleep in bed with you.  I know you are playing non-stop and watching Cardinal Baseball. I know they are getting their full of milk and ice cream.

I know every single second they spend with you is full of love and tinged with good-old-fashioned-playtime.

Even though she isn’t there to spend the day with you - she wants you to know she adores you.  You are the most amazing husband, the funniest guy she has ever met and truly the best daddy. And even from Chicago - she is sending birthday wishes and can’t want to celebrate with you on Sunday night.

Bring on the Bliss

I’m a great big ball of excitement and nerves - probably more excitement, but still.

Early Thursday morning (and I do mean EARLY) I will hop out of bed and drive my happy self to Chicago for BlogHer.  And I can’t wait.

blissdomgrouppic1It was just over 5 months ago that I did the very same thing on my journey to Blissdom.  I was nervous I would be find myself in the midst of an episode of ‘Mean Girls’, but instead was sucked into a great big group hug.  I think I was actually glowing from all of the affirmations and positive energy that surrounded me for that blissful weekend in February.

I met some of the most amazing people - so many of them are online friends I just can’t wait to see again.

I learned so very much and now feel as though my blogging and website have found the voice that suits me perfectly.

So, not that I have high expectations or anything (I do) but I fully expect BlogHer to be just as wonderful.

It is going to be a long, action packed adventure - I can just feel it.

And I hope to come back with more fantastic pictures like these:

If nothing else, I KNOW that Sugar Jones, one of my roomies - will keep me on my toes, laughing and motivated!

Driving with a Swag-ger

So, I’m excited about BlogHer - and I consider myself to be a helpful kind of girl, yes?

Waaaaaay back when I had told the Room704 crew I would be happy to help deliver party swag to BlogHer, because I am driving - much less expensive transport, ya know?

The amazing Mommentator had offered too.  And the mother-load was delivered to her house.  When I saw the AMOUNT of boxes, I thought to myself, “hmmmm - there is NO CHANCE she will get that all in her car to Chicago….I don’t care if she drives a passenger van”.  That thought was quickly followed by, “why don’t I help - we don’t live so far away from each other”. I figured that way, Mommentator wouldn’t be forced to borrow a neighbor’s semi to deliver :)

Today, we met half way between St. Louis and Kansas City and loaded up my car.  Bonus: I get real live hugs from Mommentator.

So…this is us after the transfer. (Isn’t she fabulous??)

And this is after I arrived home.

And….after I unloaded.

What?  You can tell they are organized by size?  And you think I’m a bit of a nerd?  Well, maybe I am.  And it will make for easy packing when I head to Chi-Town, yes?

Looking forward to a fabulous Par-tay, Room704.
