I remember the page turning. The endless mouse-clicking.
When I was pregnant, and when my sleep-deprived new-mommy-brain would allow it, I hunted….. I searched…. I was determined to KNOW. Know what you ask? Well everything as it relates to being a mom, or having a baby, or being a baby. I was lucky to have a healthy little girl, but still managed to worry myself with every ‘am I doing it right?’ possibility….
Diapers, sleeping, nursing, clothing, blankets, picture-taking….. my dreams were a mish-mash of ‘the right bottles’, a fear of ‘pumping’, Baby Einstein and where to find that picture perfect outfit.
If only there had been something….anything that could put it all in front me.
Well, that was 2006.
And now, here in St. Louis….in 2010, there is.
Enter the Oh Baby Expo….in its 2nd year…. this Sunday, November 7th at the St. Charles Community College.
All things baby - and all in one place.
The Oh Baby Expo – the brain child of friends Jennifer Kealey May and Tiffany McCall Kaltenbach aims to be a true one-stop-shop of resources and baby joy for parents. Calling it a ’boutique style shopping and education experience’, the Expo is expected to have more than 1400 new parents and families attending.
Now…. I happen to know that there was a line to get in more than an hour before the doors opened last year… and I’m thinking that the snazzy swag bags they are giving away to the first 50 people in the door this year will mean that line will be extra long.
SSM Maternity is the official sponsor of the event – so there is a strong emphasis on learning…. new parents and parents-to-be will find many resources and you can expect to find unique goodies for your new little one, as well as a number of contests and giveaways, book readings, a play pen area, holiday photos and ultrasounds….
The Oh Baby Expo is open from 11am-4pm on Sunday, November 7th.
