Bloggy Giveaway Time – $15 Giftcards!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

Because I am thankful for you – new bloggy friends and old – I am beyond thrilled to join yet another bloggy carnival….AND…..wait for it…..give, what I happen to consider to be a STELLAR prize:

If you’ve visited me before, my set of prizes may not be a surprise, but they are, however, FUN.

Three $15 gift cards:  One for you, one for your kids and one for your home.  Twice now, I’ve given the gift cards to Target, A Children’s Place and Old Navy.  Because I love you and because these may not be YOUR Favorite three stores, we can substitute if you win….  For example….maybe you like LinensNThings better…or mabye you prefer Gymboree.  I’m game to make you happy….the caveat:  I have to be able to find the store you love by me so I can get you the cards :)

But I’m getting ahead of myself…you have to WIN first, right?  And before that, you have to ENTER.  And then we’ll figure it out.

So….here’s how you throw your name in my virtual hat:

I am a gratitude junkie:  When you post for this contest, share one or two ways you are teaching your children to be grateful.  I’ll give you an entry for each way you work thankfulness into the lives of you and your family.

I’ll also give you an extra entry each if you:

a) Subscribe via email (near the top right of the blog)
b) Sign up for the ExtraordinaryMommy.com newsletter

Thanks for visiting and for entering….I hope you’ll be back again.

This contest ends on Saturday evening, November 1st at 11:59pm CST.

we stress the importance of using those words, “thank you”. we also talk alot about things we are given and remember who they are from so we can show continued thankfulness for them. we also tell our children how thankful we are for them and the things we do. lastly when we pray we also give thanks for the things we have in our lives. thankfulness is such an important trait in our children!

From the time my daughter could even attempt to talk we have taught her to say thank you. We also tell her that we are thankful that God put her in our life. Now that she is two and understanding more, I try to teach her that God made all things, and that we should thank Him for that, and for His blessings in our lives.

I don’t yet have children, but I’m a college professor (which a lot of time seems like the same thing!). I try to remind them to be considerate of one another’s time (as I am of theirs). And I remind them of the difference between can and may.

telling “thank you” to them is how we start it. they’ll get the idea and the habit when we as parents are grateful

My siblings always have to say please and thank you, and I don’t hand them what they ask for unless they say it “right”.

I try to teach my daughter to be thankful by having her appreciate her things/toys. When she makes a mess she must clean it up herself etc…

My son is only 21 months, so we’re kind of limited as to what he can understand, but one thing I’m really proud of is that he has learned to say “thank you” and does so regularly, and much to our delight often says it without being prompted, which leads me to believe that he understands what he’s saying and what it means! We’re also trying to teach him to not be greedy – a hard task for a toddler! But we’re working on it!

I bought Frog a bank for her birthday. It has 3 sections. One for Saving, One for Spending, and one for Giving. I think it is important for the kids to be grateful for what they have and give to those in need.

Since my daughter isn’t a year yet, I’m just teaching her to be grateful by not throwing her food on the floor. I hate wasted food! Simple, but it’s a start!

I am teaching my kids to be grateful by making sure they respect people whether its a stranger in the store, a friend at school, or their teacher. Im also teaching them. I am also teaching my daughter that people wont respect you if you dont respect yourself. I saw on a show where a young man said “i give girls as much respect as they give themselves. They talk dirty or dress like a S**t then shes not getting respect”.
