Mark Your Holidays - With a Sharpie (Giveaway too!)
If you read my blog, you likely know a few things about me:
1) My husband is F-U-N-N-Y.
2) I call my children ’small people’ - because they are. They drive me absolutely batty. And I adore them.
3) I live in the Midwest, but still believe California and all things beach-related are my true ‘home’.
4) I like video, um….a lot.
5) I love to eat, drink wine, play with my small people, work until 3am (it is so quiet!), give gifts and talk to my friends.
However - as much as it pains me - I cannot sing. And I am not crafty.
EXCEPT. EXCEPT when I have a Sharpie in my hands. You think I am silly? Or maybe exaggerating a touch?
Perception is reality my friends. And the small people will tell you the same thing.
I dangled this beauty in front of them - with the promise of decorating some Christmas ornaments and the following hour went a little something like this:
3:45 (Moments after the wide eyed squeal of joy that accompanied the first viewing of said Sharpie Ornament) “Mommy, can we decorate the ornaments now?”
“we’ll do it in just a little while, honey.”
3:48 “Mommy, are you ready now?” ”Sweetheart, I need you to hang on a bit.”
3:51 “Moooooommmmyyyyy….can we puuuhhhhlllleeeezzzeee decorate the ornaments now? And can I choose my favorite marker?”
Ok - I won’t punish you with the rest of our dialogue - it was painful enough the first time.
But….all the pain evaporated as we refocused our energies on the holiday task in front of us.
We chose reds and greens…..browns and yellows…..and we colored. And colored. And colored.
Pure crafty bliss - even for the traditionally un-crafty.
And the result….impressive. To us.
If you would like the opportunity to win a craft-inspiring super Sharpie Ornament, enter here….I’m excited to be giving one away. In the comments - tell me a) about your love-affair with Sharpies OR b) what type of craft you might be inspired to concoct with this Sharpie collection.
This contest will run until December 14, 2009.

I get really possessive with my Sharpies. My kids want to use them all the time and I’m all, “Noooooo, you have your own markers! Don’t use mine!!”
Because I share really well like that. *grin*
Sharpies are ranked as the favorite pen in our house. Being on different sleeping schedules, my husband and I use our trustie lil sharpie pals to write lil drawings and jokes the other wakes up to. The notes tell our story, thank you sharpie! As far as what Sharpies can do….the crafting, note-carding, coloring potential is endless, but for the holidays, making paper bag puppets of santa and other holiday characters with my nieces and nephews would be a super fun project! Cheers! - T
you cant have enough of these around
I LOVE Sharpies! For the last 25 years, I have almost ALWAYS kept at least one Sharpie in my purse. (Almost, because sometimes my Sharpie gets “borrowed” and doesn’t find its way back.) Artwork, labeling, decorating, temporary tattoos and celebrity autographs are just some of the things for which I’ve used my Sharpies.
We use Sharpies to decorate white and craft paper for wrapping gifts. And I always have one in the kitchen for labeling items for fridge and freezer. They are great for the kids’ art/drawings and the colors and styles are great. I love Sharpies!!
I myself do not use them as much as the others, but when I bought a package recently, my granddaughter grabbed them as soon as they entered the house. I try to keep them available for use, but have to continually replace them!
I do a lot dealing with shipping of samples with my work. I make it a point to use a different color sharpie on everything I send out. I don’t know what I would do without them. I wish they made more highlighters

A Sharpie marker is always with me… we have them in the car, in my purse, in my extra bags and I have a huge stash of them here at home. I think I’ve tracked down “borrowers” at work at least a dozen times to get my sacred sharpie markers back
Thanks for the chance!
I love sharpies! In fact I hid mine from everyone so that I know they will be there when I need them. Black is especially good for touching up things that I have spray painted black i.e. picture frames mirrors etc. And the kids think it is a treat when they get to use Mom’s markers.
With three kids and a husband in college I should have more Sharpies than are made in a year, but alas I do not. I love the deep pink one and I never get to keep it.
Awesome giveaway…thank you mucho… =]
We moved to New Orleans two years ago from a very small town in Northwestern Wisconsin. It was the first time that any of us had lived in a city, let alone a city needing a lot of tender loving care. Our first holiday here, we made it a point to get involved with the homeless population - just a way to give back. We decided to make holiday cards. Since then, the month before Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter we sit down in our family circle and create 250 handmade holiday cards to distribute to the homeless on the holiday. My daughter says that everyone needs to know they are loved on a holiday and this is our way of showing them. A ball of sharpies would go a long way in paying it forward.
We also do the decorations for the tree and then label gifts with the fun sharpie colors
I have used Sharpies for at least 20 years. As a former school teacher, sharpies were a must, and the colors were great! I especially like the fine-tipped sharpies for writing on backs of ornaments and for card-making!
I love to write with sharpies, because everything is so nice & crisp!
Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<
Sharpies are awesome! I have to hide them from my kids though, or else I wouldn’t have any to myself.
I am a huge Sharpie addict, I have a bunch of colors & use them almost daily. I use them the most in labeling & for shipping products. They work awesome! I’ve also used them to label ornaments, but I think I want to try actually using them to create ornaments.
We’ve even used them to fix scratches in dance shoes. One year we needed those kind that have the black stripe on them for a Grease number. We took plain white Ked type shoes & made them into those other shoes. On stage you can’t tell the difference!
I use Sharpies a lot - I always carry one with me.
Oh, I love Sharpies, though I mainly just doodle with them!

I love the Sharpie pens! They are my favorite. If I won, I would use the Sharpies to make handmade cards and gift tags. Thank you!
My kids and I would use the sharpie markers to decorate Christmas cards for family members.
I use Sharpies in various size points and colors for all my gift tags, signing and addressing Christmas cards and to address and decorate packages to be mailed. I especially love the metallic Sharpies for this.
I am a college student and I use these constantly. You can never have too many sharpies.

i need more sharpies - they’re perfect for spiffing up papercrafting projects
I love Sharpies for addressing envelopes and postcards because they are permanent and won’t run if the item gets damp.
I’d really like to try making the ornaments with the sharpies! Looks like fun! I love the sharpie pens also!
Thanks for entering me! Great Contest!

I’m a barista at Starbucks, and I like having multicolored Sharpies so that I can decorate customer’s coffee cups. Seriously, a little pink smiley face on a coffee cup can make someone’s day! Whenever I bring colored markers to work, my co-workers steal them, so I could definitely use some!
i absolutely love sharpies! i use them for EVERYTHING and there are so many fun colors. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve always loved Sharpies, and when they began to get more colors I was sooo happy. I guess in general, I’m an office supply-junkie with Sharpies being a favorite.
i love sharpies - i use them for everything
I love my sharpies, I use them for everything from work to play!
i love my sharpie and my children know not to lose it. they are always trying to steal it from me. and i love the new ones that are like pens that you can just click that is great for me because i lose the tops to them.
I’d love to tell you about my love-affair with Sharpies, really I would, but the only time I see them is on the sly or when I am buying them. The geekazoid has TRUE LOVE with Sharpies and we’ve blogged about it many a time. Every holiday, every event, every everything demands new Sharpies. She Sharpies her clothes, she Sharpies her stuff, she Sharpies herself and her friends and one thing is guaranteed- if we win this, it will be appreciated more than you can possibly know.
I love sharpies,I use them for everything! We have a business and use them for that too!

I love sharpies! (So does my entire family) I have to hide my Sharpies from my kids because they always take them! I keep at least 1 Sharpie in every room & in our cars — you never know when you’ll need one!
I’d love to sharpie-up some CDs that are no longer very useable and make them into ornaments
I should invest in stock with Sharpies - I use them for EVERYTHING, but mostly for labeling the kids items that they take to pre-k.
I’m a Sharpie addict! I’m sitting here right now as I type this looking at one of my (many!!) pencil holders that is filled with sharpies in all different color….maybe 12 or so. But I’ve had them quite a while now and so I need a new “fix” or I may go into withdrawal. Thanks.
My kids love sharpie markers. This year we are decorating plan glass bulbs as gifts and I think we might try decorating with sharpie marker on the outside instead of paint on the inside.
I have a love of the Sharpie like nobody else I know. My collection is HUGE (retractables are my fav) and I NEED more. This year I used them to create personalized gifts for my husband’s co-workers. I decorated a tin I purchased for $1 at Target for each of them, then filled it with a cozy pair of socks and lotion.
I use Sharpies daily in my scrapbooking.
i hope i win
I do a lot of machine embroidery. Sometimes, I haven’t hooped the fabric well enough, or I’m doing a design that wasn’t digitized very well, so there ends up being a gap between two of the colors. I use Sharpie markers (thank goodness they come in so many colors!!) to color in the gaps!
I home school my daughter so we use a lot of Sharpies. If I win my daughter and I will find lots of things to use the Sharpies for. Starters we will decorate candle jars.
i love sharpies, i use them to write on blank dvds.
We definitely love Sharpies around here. In fact, my fiance and I often accuse each other of “stealing” all the sharpies when we need to mark something - having this many could solve that, hee hee! I think making some ornaments with different colored Sharpie markers would be a lot of fun. Thanks for the giveaway!
i would love to have a sharpie.we dont have any.thanks

I use Sharpies for all different things. For arts and crafts, outside in the garden, labeling, etc. And I really don’t like to loan them out.

I love sharpies — but I’m slightly paranoid when my boys are using them. I’m afraid someone will take one to our kitchen countertop and we will have a permanently decorated counter. So, if I win I will keep an eagle eye on my boys, and start decorating ornaments.

I use them for college projects!
