Giving and Getting – A Twitter Party Event That Does BOTH

I’ve always believed it is one of my primary responsibilities as a parent to teach my small people to be good citizens of the world.  In fact, the ‘Give Good, Get Good’ mentality  has been a true motivator behind this site since it began nearly five years ago.

I have found, as my sweet ones are getting older, that it isn’t so much what I tell them to do, but what I show them. Modeling kind and generous behavior runs circles around sitting on my couch and explaining the many people, the many charities who have needs and they ways we *could* help.  We could talk all.day.long, and while I definitely think it is important to explain the ‘why’s’ to your kids so they understand who you are choosing to help and what their needs might be, I also know it is crucial to DO.

This Thursday, November 15th from 12-1 EST, I’m joining One2One Network and two amazing bloggers, Jennifer James and Crissy Page to host the #BetterTogether Twitter Party.  Unilever has partnered with Feeding America™, the FEED Foundation, and #GivingTuesday™ to raise awareness about hunger in our country. Together they are encouraging people like you and me to band together and find a solution to this extraordinary problem.

So, join me this week, on Thursday, November 15th, from 12-1pm ET for the #BetterTogether Twitter Party. We’ll be chatting about how you can ‘give good, get good’ in your local community – helping families in need – especially as the holidays approach. Understanding the problem, and sharing the message – these are the very first steps.

Date: Thursday, November 15th
Party Time: 12-1pm ET
Location: #BetterTogether
Hosts: @DanielleSmithTV, @MomBloggersClub, & @Crissy
