Thirty-Eight days left until Christmas…. but who’s counting?
I guess that would be me. The girl who loves everything about the holidays (except the cold). I was sitting in my house the other dying trying to decide which part I love the very most…. the decorating, the food or the parties and celebrating? It’s a toss up. maybe the celebrating because those give me the opportunity to dress up AND enjoy the holiday decor while eating some of the most delicious food I have all year.
But there is always the question of what to wear…. especially if you are heading out to a fancy event. I do hope you get to enjoy at least one good, dress-up holiday party. I do so love the opportunity to feel a little fancy this time of year. Of course we are always plagued by the what-to-wear question: We don’t want to be too dressy, but this is the time of year when it is just too much fun to pass up the chance to put on our very best.
Because I simply can’t pass up the opportunity to offer you some dressy suggestions – and Kohl’s has made this so easy for me – since we are working together and they are helping me to combine full holiday looks with beauty, I wanted to highlight three different options (since you never know just what kind of event you might be invited to attend).
Let’s start with the most Fun and Flirty:
For this look I paired the LC Lauren Conrad Lurex Fit and Flare Dress in a pale gold with Jennifer Lopez Lace Peep-Toe Platform Heels to give the whole outfit a sassy feel. Add Candie’s Simulated Pearl and Flower Stretch Bead Set to the wrist for the perfect accessory and use Lorac: Real Life to Red Carpet Dramatic Face Tutorial Kit to help the entire ensemble come to life. This makeup kit takes you step-by-step through the process so you can be ‘barely there’ or glamorous.
To step it up a notch, go Sophisticated.
Start with something simple and classic like this Helene Blake Sequin Lace Sheath Dress in black. I love the Rock n Republic High Heels to add a little edge (are they black or are they silver? So perfect!)….along with the Pearl n’ Ice Sterling Silver Crystal Earrings and a Two Tone Mesh Stretch Bracelet as the ideal jewelry. The BalmJovi Rockstar Makeup Palette allows you to style your beauty to your liking with a variety of options, but all are classic enough to fit this style. Heaven knows I could spend hours working with this makeup palette. The options are endless.
And finally, for the Fanciest of evenings…you know, when you truly get to be Glamorous, opt for form fitting and floor length like this Chaps Solid Cutout Evening Gown. The asymmetrical line of this dress is so flattering while being both classic and beautiful. I know they may seem a little high (you know I love high heels)but I just adore the Candie’s Dress Sandals. They add a little sparkle and sass to the glamour. The Silver Plated Marcasite Openwork Cuff Bracelet and Silver Plated Marcasite & Crystal Filigree Teardrop Earrings top off the accessories. For makeup, I’m thinking something dramatic, so the Academy of Colour Smoky Eyes Makeup Palette would be ideal.
Now, all that is left for you and I to decide? Just which look do we really want for our holiday party this year? Or can we possibly swing more than one?
Good luck deciding – have a fabulous Holiday Party Season and let me know where you go!Disclosure: I’m delighted to be working with Kohl’s over the holidays to bring you amazing ideas for beauty. This is one post in a series. As always, all thoughts and opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.
