All you people who couldn’t stop talking about the awesomeness of Glee? You know who you are…..you talked and talked and talked about your new TV addiction. You giggled about the characters, got the songs stuck in your heads (and mine), you began to use #Glee as a hashtag.
And all the while, you never gave a thought to those of us who didn’t know enough about the show to set the DVR to tape. What is a girl to do when 9 episodes have passed and you still don’t know if you should add it to the rotation?
Last week, I would have suggested waiting until the next season to rent or buy the whole lot of them, or begging a friend to catch you up (neither sounds like fun).
But, then my friend, Barbaar Jones of One2One Network told me I now have a new option.
Fancast has actually been around since January of 2008, but it is new to me. This site houses more than 60,000 video – 13,000 of them are full length shows. It is an online portal showcasing TV shows, movies, short videos, blogs, show listings, celebrity updates and sometimes live chat. It even aggregates content from more than 100 other sites, including Hulu, Fandango, E! Online and Comcast.net.
So, I wondered…can I catch up on Glee? Not entirely, but close. I can go back to the last five shows. This, of course, means I can join the #Glee hashtag and learn the songs.
While I’m on Fancast, I can also watch a movie, catch up on some of my favorite shows – even if I’m not at home in front of the TV/DVR (or if I forget to set the schedule!)
I can catch up or indulge on my own time - and while there are a few short (very short) commercial breaks, it isn’t that distracting, I can still finish an hour show in less than 45 minutes.
And did I mention it is free? Ahhh….the magic word.
