Who did this?

Coop’s new habit?  Sharing his inevitable misdeeds. With a question.

“Hoo did dis?” (Who did this?)

Who wrote in pen on our new couch pillows? (that’s what he’s showing me in the picture)

Who colored on the wall in blue crayon?

Who colored on Delaney’s dresser in red crayon?

Who emptied the toothpaste tube on the bedspread?

Who covered his bedroom window in Vaseline? (yes, that one was especially fun)

I always say, “You tell me.”

And he always says, “I di it.”

At least he’s honest.  And who can resist that face?

Not the pillows!! The ones that brought you joy??? The ones he already attacked with a sucker? Oh, that little guy better be glad he’s so darn cute.

Oh I can so relate! If he ever gets a hold of a tube of Desitin, never fear it cleans up with good old fashioned soap and water. I speak from experience.

You are so not alone in this craziness. My soon to be five year old son exhibits similar behavior. Occasionally he will ask, “Is something missing?” and we have to find it. He won’t tell us what’s missing and we never know where to look. After a few minutes he’ll show us…the TV remote in the toy box, my car keys hanging on the back of his bedroom doorknob etc. He finds this to be hilarious, “It’s a joke!” he’ll exclaim. We do not find it to be funny and have TRIED to get him to stop. Sometimes we actually notice that things are missing, like our toothbrushes for example, and we ask him where they are and he can’t remember! We found them weeks later on the floor of our bedroom closet. We bought new toothbrushes the day they went missing of course:) The other day my husband found a bracelet of mine in a bag of dog food. We are suspicious that the baby might have done this since I did see her playing with my bracelet that day but it COULD have been my son. Or maybe they were in on it together. My son also takes things and leaves them for us to find as “jokes”. Last night when we went to bed, my husband found his tape measure under his pillow and I found my nail clippers under mine. Sometimes I think he does these things when he is upset. The toothbrushes went missing on a day that his behavior was not good and I wouldn’t let him watch a DVD. What’s up with this kid? Is he destined to become a kleptomaniac or what? He really is a great kid. I am hoping that this is a phase that he will grow out of soon, but my husband is a big jokester so it may be in the genes.

    Amanda~

I do so love your advice on the Desitin. It really is only a matter of time….he is such a little stinker. Today he unrolled AN ENTIRE roll of craft paper that belonged on an easel. And he tore it into bitty pieces. Stinker. Double Stinker.
