About Us

I am dedicated to YOU… Extraordinary Mommys….trying to be the very best moms possible. It doesn’t matter how old you are, whether you stay home, work part-time or full-time outside of your home. It doesn’t matter if you have one child or 10. I know it's hard, and stressful, and rewarding, and joyful, and crazy and fantastic…topsy-turvy, exhausting, exciting and truly EXTRAORDINARY.

I want to help you embrace the Extraordinary by focusing on what is extra special about you and about the treasure that is ‘Mommydom’. (That’s the Mommy Kingdom in case you were wondering!)

Remember: Extraordinary Mommy isn't about being Hollywood fabulous, it's about feeling your worth. You are Extraordinary. You raise your children, you love them, you care for them…and all in only 24 hours a day.

I have two beautiful children and a terrific (and funny!) husband (see Daddy Diary for stellar examples of his wit and 'great Daddy credentials!'). Like you, I have days where being a mommy feels like a piece of cake, and days where my husband is likely to find a note with “I quit” scrawled in purple crayon. My hope is that this site will help you to focus on the cake days and to keep the “I quits” to a minimum.

In my time as a mommy, I have learned a few things:

1) Being a mom is hard, really hard. But it is worth it.
2) Other moms are the best resource for the mommy challenges I face.
3) There is a lot of Information out there for us, but not enough Inspiration.
4) I am guilty as charged: I used to think the tantruming child would never happen to me.
5) I laugh harder and louder as a mom than ever before (to be fair, my husband gets a lot of the credit for that!).
6) Necessity REALLY IS the mother of invention.
7) Kids REALLY DO say the darndest things.
8) All moms have something to offer: a life changing tidbit of advice, a shoulder to pinch, bruises to compare, or just a compassionate smile.
9) We don’t give ourselves enough credit.
10) Moms are too hard on each other; there is more than one perfect way to raise a child.
11) The jokes about moms wearing multiple hats (chef, chauffeur, referee, etc.), they really aren’t jokes…they are facts. Who knew?
12) I am a better mom when I take care of myself.
13) Bargaining is a necessary evil when raising a child.
14) I choose to embrace the ‘new normal’ that encompasses my life.
15) I truly didn’t know I could love as much as I do.
