My children love to make a hideout in our family room. Using large covers they’ll drape them over the furniture. The only unfortunate thing is my 2 yr old tearing everything down. Your children are older so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Making a tent is great fun. Arts and crafts (macaroni art, coloring, paper airplanes.

My grandmother used to make toy soldiers out of clothespins (the kinda u shaped ones) and teach us how to ‘walk’ an empty soda (juice) can on its edge across a table (you have to spin it just so lol).

Board games, or even homemade equivalants. (Tiddly winks with pennies for chips and nickles for flippers, a cut down dixie cup for a goal.) Of course dont forget story time or sing alongs, family bake/cook night, twenty questions… homemade libs, Theres just tons of stuff to do if you are willing to stop and think instead of just go to the prepackaged ‘family activities’.

Enjoy the weather, and please stay warm and safe.
