Making Lemonade from Lemons

Or Strawberry salads, smoothies and daquiris from strawberries.

Once again, I FORGOT to look in the fridge BEFORE I went grocery shopping.  This means, I have four, yes four, containers of strawberries to use – and I will not let them go bad.

strawberry-delightStrawberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I say!

Tonight – sliced for the kids, and my favorite strawberry salad for the grown ups.

Tomorrow – smoothies.  If you have a strawberry recipe I could use – I would love to hear it!

    Strawberry Delight

    3 Pints Strawberries
2 Boxes French Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 16 oz. Pound Cake (Angel Food Cake for lowfat diets)
    1 16 oz. Cool Whip

Clean and slice strawberries (place in bowl)
Prepare pudding according to instructions (in separate bowl)
Break pound cake into small, bite size, pieces (place in separate bowl)

Begin layering a footed glass Trifle bowl with cake (you can use another deep glass bowl also), then strawberries, then pudding, then whipcream. Continue that process until bowl is almost full. Top it off spreading a layer of Cool Whip and then topping it off by arranging a few strawberries on top for decoration.

    It’s quick, easy and yummy.

Wash and dry a strawberry. Roll it in sour cream, then roll it in brown sugar. Eat and ENJOY!
